Going to Uni is a life changing event for everyone involved. Leaving the affordable and comfortable family home to face the big wide world filled with mysteries such as washing clothes, ironing and cooking! A scary and exciting time for all! Questions and challenges will arise along the way such as 'How long should I cook a chicken for?' and 'Can't I just throw all my clothes in the same wash?'. Inevitable incidents of food poisoning and red dyed clothes will follow. But then, it's all about learning those all important life skills and knowledge, not just achieving that all important qualification...well that's what parents tell themselves!

Parents will probably supply them with endless boxes of food, washing powder and socks, just in case they don't have shops in their new Uni town! Along with those essential last minute parenting tips that are quickly wiped from the memory of their 'student to be'...don't drink too much, work hard, ring home lots...and such like.
